I think "making heads explode" is part of the plan, but it's not really working. It's very doubtful Gaetz will get confirmed. Pretty convenient that he stepped down just before the ethics committee report came out.

Did Trump pick him to protect him from that report? Will be interesting to see if the report is still published even tho that can't do anything to him.

Trump is trying to by-pass the confirmation process. the Constitution means nothing to him, unless he can use it to his benefit.

He wants all his picks appointed on the day he picks them without any venting.
He may get it.

They will go through the process but just as the GOP had to accept appointments like Garland, Mayorkas and the Man-Wo, the dems will have to go along to get along.

I am surprised that any prospective cabinet members who currently serve in the Senate or House do so before being confirmed.

Goetz, Jordan, Hawley, Kennedy and Cruz are the kind of people the left hates. They push and badger witnesses as good attorneys do and irritate the competition. Goetz is tailor made for the job.

It was an awesome pick, it just never had a chance to get through. When Gaetz did McCarthy in he made some enemies with the RINOS and he only had a few to play with to get the nod knowing every Democrat would vote as a block. Now the Democrats will focus on Hegseth and see if they can take him out, but that one won't be so easy.

The Democrats voted 100% for every Biden pick for his cabinet if only the GOP were that loyal. And many Republicans voted for these mutant Biden picks, including Garland.

No release, The House doesn't make a habit of reporting ethical matters on private citizens which is what Gaetz is at this time. In fact he is a private citizen that Merrick Garland couldn't come up with any charges on. I heard some leftist attorney today say this was the plan all along, so who knows? I'm ok with Biondi, but I'm sure they will attack her also.

If no one had reacted to the fact that a nominee for Attorney General has been accused of (and probably guilty of) sexual abuse of a minor and illicit drug use what would that say about the state of our country.

Secondly, this type of behavior is par for the course with our politicians, we all know that. It's just a matter of who actually gets called out on it and who can bury it deep enough.

Gaetz is a beast in the committee hearings. He does not tolerate crap from anyone. He was a good selection, but now that the report has dropped people are still clutching their pearls over some consensual sex and whatever he was smoking at the time. It really doesn't matter, his replaement...she will take care of business.

If you know anything about the law and attorneys you know that being guilty does not always equal being convicted or even tried. Hopefully the state of Florida will charge him, but I doubt it.
