Kamala’s Photo Op

She spent 19 minutes at the border, y’all.

Let's cut her some slack.

She's only been VP/Border Czar for 3.75 years which roughly breaks down to

1,971,000 minutes or, .00000081 per cent of her time.

Now, factor in that half of that was spent sleeping or doing whatever she does in bed, and another hour a day reminding Joe it was time for him to quit, she's really been dedicated to fixing the problem.

I know the new FACTS about how many murderers, rapist, child molesters have been released into the country may be alarming to some, but I still think she's worked as hard as she is capable of working to fix the border mess her boss created.

Opie

"she.s only beeen VP/Border Czar for 3.75 years...."

Opie I think you know better. Kamala Harris was never in charge of the border. That job has always been the Home Land Security Secretary. And it has never changed. the "Boarder Czar" is just another made up MAGA talking point that is untrue.

with respect, I must say it not like the Opie I have come to know to post this nonsense.

You must admit that the border is a disaster and Americans have suffered due to the weak policies of Biden and Harris.

I’ll admit when Trump is stupid. Be honest enough to admit when your crew has failed.

Opie,
I will agree that there are many serious problems at the boarder. I do not blame either party for the mess it is in. The problem has existed many years.
There was a bi-partisan bill written by your party that would have greatly curtailed the influx of immigrants. The bill would have increased Homeland Security, which is much needed.
Donald Trump called his colleges to stop it, because he needed boarder as a issue to run on. Tells me that he could care less about the actual issues at that border.

Have a happy Sunday Opie, play some golf before the weather gets to cold.

Could he make it any clearer?

IT WAS HER JOB! SHE BLEW IT! In fact, her answer was to fly them in illegally, in droves, in the middle of the night, in countless cities across our country.

They are receiving free benefits that our homeless military vets and America's poor could only dream of. Why is their well being prioritized over that of American citizens?

You have it in your head since Biden didn't use the actual term "border czar" that it's all a lie made up by the Republicans. WRONG, and the link above proves exactly what Biden announced, what he expected and what he promised to do.

The border has been a problem for decades, but the mass intrusion started under this administration.

That border bill, like so many, was full of pork too although, the people to blame are the ones who let Trump lead them around by the nose IF indeed he did.

Yes, I can typically play golf through November and even up until Christmas some years. You have a good day too MG.

"Boarder Czar" was not made up by MAGA. I posted the original source of this term for Kamala. It was coined (first used) by Axios which is a left leaning media source. The right side of politics used it too.

Biden's assignment to Harris was clear, but apparently you are not understanding what she was actually charged with doing and what she had the power to do.

It was not border security, period. She was not assigned to oversee U.S. border enforcement. Managing the border has always been the job of the Secretary of Homeland Security.

Harris' assignment was to work with Central American countries to address the root causes of migration from those countries, to find out what conditions in those countries were causing so many people to flee to the Southern border.

The key phrase in the headline from your link: "Diplomatic efforts to stem migration"

Of course, Republicans began spinning this at the convention into a lie that she was in charge of border security, that she was somehow supposed to fix the border. They continue to perpetuate that as a talking point against her.

Re: Kamala’s Photo Op

Posted by Soccer User icon on September 29, 2024, 6:36 pm, in reply to "Re: Kamala’s Photo Op"

Wherever it came from it was never a title given to her by Biden and if you read my post above, it did not involve border security.

The MAGA Republicans have greatly and erroneously expanded her responsibilities so they can use it against her. Imagine that, misleading the American people.

Mill says, “Kamala Harris was never in charge of the border. That job has always been the Home Land Security Secretary.

For Pete’s sake! That department, (US Department of Homeland Security) was just formed in 2003, after the 9/11 attacks, so NO, it has not always been tasked with border security.

It is basically a large consolidated umbrella containing 22 executive branch agencies which all fall under executive control.

They answer to the President of the United States.

The policy that this department follows is that of the President.

Donald Trump himself has stated portions of Project 2025 are in his plans for his administration should he win. Eliminating the Dept of Education, for example.

No Blu - I have never stated that Republicans pinned that title on her.

What they did do, however, was lie, spin, twist, what her actual assignment was and they defined the term "border czar" as having total responsibility with border security.

If they want to call her the "border czar" and explain that her responsibilities were a diplomatic mission to work with South American countries to pinpoint what issues in those countries were causing people to flee, that would be fine. That would be the truth.
