I haven't seen this in print yet but if it's true, I have two questions.
1.) Why would the sitting board rush to settle this contract with a new board being seated in a month? 2.) I'm assuming the board is in very sound financial shape to go out to a four year contract at these rates. 3.) What did the union give up to reap this more than fair salary adjustment? 4.) What's the overall cost over the four years of the contract? 5.) Did this raise include administrators, janitors, cooks and others?
I don't doubt the teachers are deserving of a raise. I mainly doubt the timing prior to an election. Weren't most school contracts negotiated over the summer?
