I attended the Edison Lofts groundbreaking this afternoon. This is the renovation of the Tri-City YMCA
As a 5-8 year old child, I learned to swim, play chess, some sign language and how to play billiards. The swim team was my first sport to be a part of a team.
I also learned how to skip out of swim practice and go to the library, the Woolworth store (or a ben Franklin store). I also learned you could jam the coin operator on the pool table with a lock blade and play for 2 hours on a singe quarter. There were all kinds of people down there, whether living there, or just coming to have fun like myself. Mostly all great memories....
Lots of memories, really glad that this project is happening and will be an asset to the down town area
