It would be a great location if St. Louis were vibrant... Granite City will not attract sprawl or 'white flight' as it's a victim and not a beneficiary of those trends.
However, if there were a move back to the urban core, then Granite City will benefit the way it did in the 1890's...
Again, I want to be proven wrong and see this go well.
I commend the city for trying to reverse these trends. Because if nothing is done, nothing will happen.
However, these types of investments don't come without risk.
