As a hardcore conservative that you know that I am, it was hard to like Bill Bidwell, but I still bid him well all the same.

I like Business people who have the fortitude and mettle to get up every morning and pull themselves by their bootstraps and work hard every day. I don't doubt that Bidwell possessed these qualities, but at the end of the day, he expected a city to pay for his place of business.

A real capitalist would raise their own capital for their own place of business. Regretably and with respect, he was part of the Free Stuff Army. He was a little more respectable about it and found another city with better free stuff to offer.

With Kroenke, he threw a little temper tantrum and even lied about his desire to stay. He attracted an offer free stuff and left it anyway, for grander horizons of free stuff. Of course, he married into the Major Generals of the Free Stuff Army when he joined the Wal Mart Family, who depends on the government more than any other corporation.

So I am sure Bidwell was a good man, a lieutenant in the Free Stuff Army, so to speak. All the same and with due respect to the deceased, he did what he thought was right and now his journey is complete.
