    Dee, as usual, I agree with about 99 per cent of what you say.

    I do feel that this new ED will have to bring in some type of business within her first six months or she will be judged a failure.

    Sadly I agree as well that all the White Castles and Golden Corals in the world won't save the city. We need to raise the median income and increase the willingness of any major job makers to come here.

    Route 3 could still support some industry and possibly some hotels or commercial venues. Our hospital teeters on the brink of disaster. They already looked at relocating out near the 255/270 interchange (not a GC property).

    We're in deep trouble when it comes to economic development. Low income, lowered property values, a shrinking school district and city population don't give investors much to hang their hats on.

    I, like you, wish this new woman well but I fear she's too little too late. The past two economic directors were bad investments. Neither did anything to earn their keep. This woman is making much more than either of them did.

    Your words are a sad reality or as I tend to refer to your posts, reali-dee.
