As always there are two sides to every story. My initial concern for the many long time dedicated staff led me to a conclusion that I believe was in error. It now appears that the hospital decided to change the contracted service due to low patient satisfaction scores. The hospital had no input on hiring or not hiring any of the staff by the new sub-contractor. For example, imagine you have a landscape company and SIUE decides to hire you to provide that service. You wouldn’t expect SIUE to now tell you to hire workers from the previous landscape company. It is unfortunate but I don’t believe the hospital can be faulted in this instance.
