It would seem that maintenance and upgrades to the system would have been an important line item in the annual budget. Surely the previous MESD members had that covered or was it diverted to line someone's pocket, like the billions of tax dollars which have been pilfered throughout Illinois for decades? Because of these corruptive practices, tax-payers have lost all confidence in public leaders, not to mention feeling TAX ENOUGH. Its my opinion, the largest expenditure for our tax dollars should have spent for that cause. In this speeding advancement age, those 75 year old lines could be comparable to sanitary conditions of the Middle Ages. Also, I don't mind paying public employee labor, but what I do resent big time, is when the public worker is receiving wages and benefits far beyond what will be received for an average taxpayer in their lifetime.
