Pontoon Beach administration refuses to let the village stagnate, and I find that commendable. They have proven that they don't just talk the talk, they make things happen.
You would be hard pressed to find any community that doesn't have their own issues. Collinsville, Edwardsville, Alton and so on all have crime and less desirable older neighborhoods. But what I have seen from the mayor and his board, is they have a sincere commitment to growth and improvement in the village.
You don't see that in Granite City, hopefully it will turn around in my lifetime.
