The Cardinals have got better, the Brewers probably even more so, but the Cubs are remaking their pitching staff with several new adds most recently Yu Darvish. This may simply be the Cubs showing the Brewers and the Cardinals that they wont be hopping off their perch anytime soon, not willingly anyway. The Astros are better, the Yankees are going to be down right scary, and the Dodgers and Nationals will probably both win 100 games. If the Cardinals sign Holland and a solid innings eating starter, they might possibly be in the thick of things. However if they think this current team as made up can win it all, they are dreaming. Yes they got better, but several other teams improved even more. Don't blame Matheny if this team falters.
