It still appears that Josh Donaldson is the main target for the Cardinals. He is a nice player but he alone will not be enough to be serious contenders. It would require opening the checkbook, but Stanton is a much better player, even if it will cost several players to land him. Im also hearing Hosmer but the Royals will do all they can to keep him. Lynn is as good as gone, so the team will need to get at least one and probably two starting pitchers, and the Bull Pen could use help also. This is not a one new player fixes all situation, but Stanton makes it a possible 3 player fixes all arrangement. IMO hes a top 5 player, with his only negatives is that he has had injury issues and he doesnt hit for a real high average. Hitting 58 homers makes that a little more tolerable.
