If what we are seeing and being told by this audit is true, and I'm really super suspect that we are getting the whole story, then SOMEONE NEEDS TO STEP UP, SOMEONE NEEDS TO PUT AN END TO THIS SHIT!
But when one of the people receiving checks out of the General Assistance Fund in the name of IMRF is your close pal, you don't get a choice of "maybe" doing something about it, you have to bite the damn bullet and DO WHAT IS RIGHT, NOT WHAT IS CONVENIENT, NOT WHAT IS GOING TO PROTECT YOUR FRIEND.
Once an elected official is aware of financial wrong doing, and REFUSES TO EXPOSE IT, THEY ARE JUST AS GUILTY AS THE PERSON HELPING THEMSELVES TO OUR TAX DOLLARS. End of story.
I'm praying that Elliot Davis is paying attention to this mess. Let him FOIA and receive a suspicious partial copy of this forensic audit. You know how that would sit. Bring on the news cameras!
