Here's the part you missed Square Head.

Yes, I think most people would appoint their friends or family. Never said different.

Here's my rub with Mrs. Hawkins.

A few short weeks ago her supporters on here even stated that she, while under oath, lied about writing up an employee in her office who may or may not have committed a fraudulent act. Maybe I'm the only one on this board that thinks that is a big deal and should not be rewarded.

A few short week ago some people on here said that Helen would not intentionally lie under oath. Okay, let's say she didn't do it on purpose. That means she created an imaginary scenario in her mind about this write up. Maybe I'm the only one on this board that thinks someone who has mental hiccups like that shouldn't be in a power position.

IF, and I still haven't heard it from the county attorney, Mrs. H. has to vacate her county board seat to take this new post, it's not a big deal for me in that we will gain another GOP on the county board.

IF Mrs. H. is an expert on flooding, why hasn't she come to the aid of the residents, other than to make speeches at meeting? Anyone can make the same statements.

My issues with Hawkins aren't personal at all as she doesn't represent my area. However, in talking to other board members they say she always votes for the emotional issues in a way that will please her constituents despite knowing some of the issues, like the budget, need approval.

Finally, you're not new here. I don't particularly give a rats ass what you or other think about me. I speak my mind and sleep very well.

Looking forward to continuing the debate as to rather someone who lied under oath or is going through memory loss makes a good public official. Have a great evening.
