Yep, it's the people.
Another thing that disappoints me is that the amount of for sale signs is directly proportional to the number of non-whites moving into the neighborhood (good riddance I say, btw).
I am lucky enough to live in a nice neighborhood (by the ice rink), where I have AMAZING neighbors, and a good 'hood.
It is the people, and their attitude.
It's also the culture we have created as well. A culture of "its ok to be mediocre and not try".
