In Granite City Mayor Ed easily earns his fourth term over challenger Asadorian.

Bob Shipley wins in a laugher over write-in candidate Goclan.

The school board retains two incumbents Hagnauer and Jones while picking up newbies Argueles and Cook-Sedabres.

Unfortunately no changes in the city council. Youngster Nick Raftopolus loses a close one but should come back in two years when he runs against a lesser opponent.

In the Village, the incumbents run unchallenged for the village board so I'm going out on a limb to say they win.

In the Barnum and Bailey township, Clerk Hawkins is elected again because she's a nice lady and lying under oath in this day and age is no big deal.

In the heated highway race Don Moore wins by less than 2 dozen votes because people at too smart to buy into smear politics any longer.

The assessor race isn't close. Hanfelder wins again but it is discovered three weeks later that she doesn't live in the township and she resigns.

Horseygirl ousts one of the incumbent board members and becomes a bad tooth in their mouth. No amount of numbing medicine will ease their pain as she exposes the games.

Finally, the race is close between Presswood and Kreher. Kreher wins because of the strong endorsement by the Pontoon Mayor and the fact that people see he is a true public servant. Presswood finishes close losing by less than 50 votes. Incumbent Viesman is a distant third and a distant memory.

    And there you have it.

Oh, one more result. Nick becomes totally irrelevant again as neither side no longer needs him to do their dirty work.
