Molina wants a new contract even though including the club option he is signed through the 2018 season. He will be 37 years old a few months into the 2019 season. The reason he wants a new contract now is because he is coming off a very good 2016 year on offense even if his defense has declined somewhat. At this point in his career he doesnt deserve Buster Posey money. Buster Posey doesnt even deserve Buster Posey money.
