Thanks Opie, I appreciate it. I think your post above summed it up. I have been involved in many organizations in the last 25 years. Most have about 5 heavy lifters, they change depending on where they are in life, and it may vary by a couple people also. Anyone that donates 40 plus years as a voluntary FF and 30 in leading as the chief, has to be special. These VFF give up every Wednesday as a work night at the station. They give up countless nights and days going on calls, sometimes saving lives, sometimes risking their own, many times both. I can't explain why they do it, but thanks to the unsung heros.
