dogs are very smart. My stupid grandpa sat in the living room out in the country with about 5 hounds around him. One day he said to me, "watch this", the idiot raised his leg in his chair, "broke wind", the dogs one by one ran out the door with the screen door banging behind each one.
When he got done laughing I asked him what the hell was that about, he replied. I used to do it, blame the dogs, grandma would get a broom and beat the hell out of them. So that being said, they are pretty bright.
