The line items that have progressively been increased are:
Salary/Personnel: $68,100 to $110,000 to $150,000 Maintenance/Ser. Equip: $750 to $1,200 Postage: $1,500 to $1,700 Telephone $ Computer: $4,000 to $5,500 to $8,500 Travel Expenses: $5,500 to $6,000
As far as the Assessors position being duplication of county services, I can only speak for Nameoki Assessors office. When I was there the county would call or email a list of properties that would need to have something checked or measured, and I would go out and do it. I would also do the permits that came down from the county with additions, demolitions, etc., and would issue Home Improvement Exemptions where necessary. These things were done only by the local office to save the time of the county. So, no I don't feel like the Nameoki Assessors office is a duplication of county services.
