Hello all, it has been awhile. It is election time in the township again and I am running for assessor. I will be on the ballot this time!
I have noticed that the budget for the assessors office has been consistently going up every year. In 2014 it was $97,350, in 2015 it was $163,750, and in 2016 it was $194,700! This can cause the tax rate to go up if too much money is asked for and the amount of taxes isn't enough to accommodate what they want. So if you've been told that your assessment went down but your tax bill went up....this is why. When I was in office my budgets were: $108,000 in 2011, $103,000 in 2012 and $97,850 in 2013.
