Amazon is not the only business that was lost to Granite. The Charles Scott welding supply company out on 203 wanted to locate in downtown Granite. The business that makes railroad crossing arm gates and lights also wanted to locate in downtown. That business employs around 60 people. Both were told their type of businesses were not what downtown Granite was looking for. This was not a decision made by the current or last economic developer. The decision was rendered from higher up.
