    I have FireFox, too.
I'm no computer whiz, but that could be spyware or cookies. The three programs I use to get rid of spyware and cookies (also keep viruses out) is AVG, CCleaner and SuperAntiSpyware. AVG is for virus protection and has a free version. CCleaner and SuperAntiSpyware are free.

Also, to keep my computer from running slow, at the top of the page in the menu bar that has "File...Edit...View...History...Bookmarks (etc.)" click "tools", then click "options" then at the left click "advanced". The page will tell you how many megabites your computer is running. Click "clear" (I have to click it twice to take it down, sometimes to zero, sometimes not). Computer will run faster after you clear it as low as you can get it to go.

I had Norton Antivirus which we had to pay for before I had AVG. Norton stinks compared to AVG.

Good luck, hope this helps. If not, hope someone who's a little more savvy volunteers some info.
