I just did a quick check on St. Louis. I don't know the site but neighborhoodscout.com states that St. Louis has an average of 15.95 violent crimes per 1000 residents and your chance of being victim is 1 in 63. I know that's St. Louis but they didn't have GC crime rates. If your violent crime rate was drastically higher than that when you were a kid, it's lucky you made it out alive.

How many people do you know that have died from violent crime?

    How many from car wrecks?

For me it's 0:7. to the best I can recall, no one that have known has died from violent crime. 7 people that I have, died in a car.

By the way, you stand a 1:50 lifetime shot of dying in a car crash. (thats worse than 1:63)

I've lost several classmates/coworkers/friends to automobiles, a few to cancer. I've lost family to old age. I can honestly say, I can't think of anyone I've known being lost to gun fire, (military service aside).

    The statistics back me up.

I know of more Cardinals killing themselves in their own cars, than I know of fans leaving the game and getting shot. I'm sure many more fans have been killed leaving a game in their cars, than by some thug.

Quit living in fear, it will get you nowhere.

The crime rate, even In GC was much higher when I was a kid than it is now. Look at the data. Don't buy into the mass media propaganda.
