A society is defined partially as to how they are for their most vulnerable.
We are doing ok...but got a long ways to go (on all sides and thought processes).
Bottom line.. Sure, it's natural to think someone is getting over in you when they get steak on a link card. And some MAY BE.
But you do yourself and any civic debate a disservice if you keep the spotlight on there while the above linked happens.
Who has a bigger impact on your economy? Your life?
Someone who is on link who may buy a steak (and most don't because of this reason...but a nice steak would certainly distract from the torture the normal people receiving aide gets daily for wanting a better wage in a job he or she is stuck in because they have to pay their crushing student loans)...or a business, who not only fleeced the tax payers for their power bill (creating FAR GREATER and more heavily felt impact, btw)...but I guarantee you won't restructure executive pay while trying to squeeze a booger out of a quarter (meaning job cuts to create more "market based affordability").
