We have an obesity problem with people on food stamps in this country, so not only are they costing us money for food, they are costing us extra for health care. Things like donuts, soda, chips, candy, and other BAD FOR YOU foods should certainly not be an option for people receiving aid to eat. If it isn't WIC approved, you shouldn't be able to buy it with food stamps. If our money must be spent to help provide people with nutrition, why the hell can people buy things with no (or even negative) nutritional value.
It's sad that I make more than median income, have a quite reasonable priced car and house, yet I have to budget for food, clip coupons, and cook it for myself, because I don't have any money for junk or going out to eat.
