Look here Radd, I was only wanting to work at the road department for just a short time, but internal conflicts and other roadblocks existed and I was needed. The Highway Commissioner's position is part-time, the salary is fitting, but I can assure you that he spends way more time doing this job after he leaves his bread and butter (evening and weekends) than the other elected officials here. This Highway Commissioner uses his vacation days to be in attendance here, that to me, maybe not to you, shows dedication to his elected position. As far as telling people what they want to hear, you got me on that one! We do tell people that their concerns are important, and those concerns are noted and will be followed up on and remedied when/if possible. We are not into politics. We are into being good public servants for this township! This Highway Commissioner has dedicated so much time, work, and bartering to improving our little area, way before taking this position, and he continues to now .. I was so excited this morning with the big item pick up going on, such a small amenity, but clearly a valued one, and your grumpy old post almost ruined it for me. Go gather some old stuff you don't want anymore and get to the curb so the highway crew can haul it off .. meanwhile, my break is over and its back to my duties.
