You are so right.....EVERYDAY SHOULD BE CELEBRATED FOR OUR MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVED OUR COUNTRY. There was soooo many,right out of school, so young. Our children today some have no clue as to what their parents experienced during the war. I remember having saving stamps, ration stamps, gas, sugar etc. As a child my biggest thing was when ONCE IN A WHILE, the drug stores etc would get a supply of BUBBLE GUM!!!! I can't remember how long a kept one piece in the refrigerator, and chew it from time to time. ha ha. Living in Granite City, we held paper drives, etc. Love to participate in them.
