    Donald Sterling Archived Message

Resolved: Donald Sterling, owner of a professional basketball team is a moron. There's no doubt this guy let his mouth and his trust in a gold digging little hustler get the better of him. He made a stupid, unforgiveable comment and it gained national attention. Today, the commissioner of basketball levied a two million dollar fine and a lifetime ban from pro ball. Don't get me started on the joke that the NBA in general has become.

So, for you more liberal minded folks I have questions. This guy was banned and fined heavily because he was taped in a private phone conversation telling his latino girlfriend to "not bring blacks to his games". Here's the questions for the liberals.

1.) It's against California law to have a two way phone conversation with anyone and have that conversation taped unless both parties know they are being taped. The question? Should the woman be prosecuted for taping the conversation? If so, should any evidence (the tape) be allowed to be used to punish this moron?

2.) While his comments were typical 1964 redneck comments, does he, as an American citizen, not have the right to freedom of speech? Are HIS rights to express his views being violated as a result of the national outrage?

Interesting question for the true liberals. I would bet you would see a lawsuit against the NBA by Sterling as a result of the action taken.

I also don't know how this or any President can take the time to address an issue like this while on a public mission to a foreign land. I mean while this news was breaking numerous African American people were gunned down by other African Americans in Mr. Obamas' own senatorial district and I heard no outrage. Interesting.

In any event, pro sports are better off without owners like this. The reap the benefits of talented athletes and aren't worried about the athlete's ethnicity when they're making baskets or scoring touchdowns. Similarly, good for the sponsors of this team who threatened to pull advertising if Sterling remained the owner.

As far as the overall outrage? I think it's grossly exaggerated. This guy is clearly a bigot with some messed up ideas. He's clearly a moron. Our world is full of them. However, he is just as entitled to his views as Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton or even the head of the KKK.

Very interesting legal case coming up on this I imagine.
