It's good to get information out to the public through these kinds of forums. My doubting Thomas side questions the motives of the union. If more money is available, will they assume it's theirs in the form of raises? My guess is yes. I also question why a union which has so many out of town teachers in their membership feel they are qualified to tell us, those of us who live here and pay taxes, what is best for our community. I'm told, and I may be way off base since my information is at least five years old, that over one third of the teaching staff lives out of town. If that's still the case, I would give their forum as much credibility as a report from the White House about national security. Correct me if I'm wrong workoutgirl. I do think it's good to go to their meeting to see what their side of the issues are. What I don't want to hear is a negotiations ploy to get more blood out of the turnip.
