These are all good questions and got me to thinking.

After an extensive search through Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc., I can find NOT ONE SINGLE WORD about the Pontoon Beach Public Water District as far as public record.

Who heads it up, who hires the supervisor or manager, who hires and fires the employees, who supervises them, who determines salaries, who conducts reviews, who establishes water rates, late charges, is there an executive board, NOTHING.

Apparently another organization, for lack of a better term, that clearly flies UNDER THE RADAR and has for about fifty five years.

There is no information on the PB website about them other than their location and phone number.

I found one bit of information on Manta.com, it is as follows:

    Pontoon Beach Public Water
    Pontoon Beach Public Water District
    3959 Pontoon Road
    Granite City, IL 62040
    Phone: (618) 931-2856

So, who literally owns the Pontoon Beach Public Water District?

    Who do they answer to?

    Who are they accountable to?

Are they subject to financial audit?

Do the generate a financial statement of any kind?

    Are they required to?

Do they generate and publish an annual budget, and if so are they required to make it public?

Are they a function of PB government?

Did they simply generate this letter and it's BS contents on a whim for just a money grab?

    Who discussed this?

    Who made this decision?

Is the PB Village administration involved with
    the PB Public Water District?

Someone has to have some answers, right?

    Who works there now?

    What do they do?

How were they hired? Has anyone ever seen a public advertisement for employment there?

Is there a PB Water District Committee?

If so, who sits on it?

    Is Paschedag still the manager?

A zillion questions, does anyone have any answers?

Don't you think we should all be concerned about this?
