Now, I'm not against snow days schools being air conditioned etc and yes the cost is super. BUT in the mid and late 50's when I was in school and of course earlier years, schools were not air conditioned, and NO we did not get out of school because it was hot, we sit and sweated, we did not get out of school because of snow or ice somehow the majority of us made it to school regardless, yes, I had shoes and did not walk up hill bare footed. Yes the teacher or principal would swat our ass if we needed it, as well as our parents when we got home. It was some tough times and it made us tougher, we won the country wars with other country's. Could today's youth survive, I'm not so sure, they have it pretty good.
