I guess the biggest problem I have with not renovating the jail, is that Madison County is trying to keep so many people who are not criminals, (at least in my mind) inside. I'm not saying people like Fred Bathon should ever enjoy a cozy cell for the rest of his life, but I bet the percentage of people in those cells for victimless crimes is quite high, it is Madison County after all, cops like Michael Reichert are a dime a dozen. But I doubt either of the two spent two nights in that particular facility, and their crimes defiantly have victims.
