    I know what you're saying. Some dogs just like being outside. But as far as the Husky, the dogs that pull sleds and compete professionally are bred and conditioned for that climate. They are also given a specific diet to prepare them for extreme temps. I guess with any dog, if you had adequate shelter(the average dog house isn't cutting it) they would do alright in -30 temps but my concern is the exposed parts like the nose and the feet, in particular. Sometimes they don't know what's best for themselves, like kids. You tell them when to come in, don't you? If dogs did what was best, we wouldn't have feeding schedules, leashes and a fence to keep them from roaming.
    I'm sure your Chow recovered from having to stay in during bad weather, bob. When the temps got back up there a little he could have played in the snow a while.
