I think medical costs are so high because when we stopped footing the bill we started being less cautious and so did our doctors. It is a lucrative business now.
Doctors used to spend more time with their patients speaking with them and really listening. Anymore you feel rushed and feel like a burden if you take to long to explain anything.
They talk to you for 10 minutes and then order a series of tests that cost 20grand to have done. We allow it and they do it because we're not paying for it.
The problem is, how do you undo something that has become so corrupted? People could be ruined financially in a matter of days, if they became suddenly ill or had an accident.
