I"m thinking of going down to 'pay as you go' and getting a magic jack. That would decimate cell phone costs.
I keep the 'roll-over' plan because I like to call the people who are prone to long conversations while taking long drives.
Then occasionally, 2-3 times a year, cell phone use picks up around the holidays or when I'm going out of town or relatives come in town.
Next time I want to spend 2-3 hours of spare time in the AC...I am thinking about going through the last 12 Cell-Phone statements... adding the minutes from each month... as well as the dollar amount at the bottom of the statement.
Then I will take actual minutes used... and see if it would have been cheaper or more expensive to go to a 'pay-as you go.'
The only thing that I am not able to do is see what calls would have remained cell-phone calls and what calls could have gone to the Magic Jack.
Problem with Magic Jack is that there's not a 618 area code. Still I can go with almost anyone and call coast to coast.. Problem is, I'd still be long distance to many.
Maybe there's some 314 prefixes that are still local calls.
