Oh, I'm sure they were pretty certain there would be illegals there. They wouldn't have wasted the money if they weren't.
As for ruining other people's Father's Day, I don't know. I guess it depends on how crazy things were when it went down. It would also depend on if people supported them being arrested or not.
Like I said, I can see it both ways, though because of the potential of harm, I don't think it was a good idea. I can also sympathize with the illegal families for the day it ruined, but at the same time, it's a risk that they took. I honestly think that if you're married to a U.S. citizen, then you should be instantly eligible to become a citizen and have "x" amount of time to get it done in. So I don't agree with the one gal who was pregnant having to go through that.
There isn't a good solution to this. You feel for them, but at the same time what they are doing IS illegal, and it is hurting our economy. The ones I really feel for, are the ones who are not safe in their own country, last I heard, rape is still not a good enough reason for political asylum (according to the law). However the ones coming over because they want better chances for work, well, I'm in the same spot. I'd like to be able to have a good job too, but it's getting harder and harder to find one. At the same time, how many of us would work the fields for the low pay that alot of the illegals work for. I just don't know. This is one subject where my Gemini twins kick in and I don't how I feel.
