It's not paranoia. If you are older than 35 all you have to do is look at your current freedoms vs the current restrictions on your freedom. The reason (or excuse) is not as far reaching as the result. The Patriot act is a perfect example, the government doesn't need a warrant to tap your phone.... and America has accepted that. In the 1970's it would have caused riots. And BTW you "got roped" into this debate by choice.....LOL.
