If the number of students in the district are declining each year, what is a few hundred more?
First of all, the elementary schools would stay where they are, closer to home and perhaps the middle school too.
Really, just
Instead of fear and that instinct that causes White Flight, let's look at some FACTS.
The FACT is this is not a large nor populous area and will not contribute to over crowded classrooms and tell me....
How many news stories do you hear about from violence at Madison HS?
It seems to me like Granite would be the place where you need to be more careful...just saying.
There is one reason why you all don't like this idea, and it has nothing to do with FACTS and everything to do with FEARS.
As kind as I can be, I don't want to be the ass clown that pops out like a Jack in the Box and drop bombshells of bad news. But really when you look at it, it would not be all that bad.
But it's people with fears and big mouths that would sour this in no time.
The fact is there are: 1080 kids in the Madison School District and a large amount obviously be in K-6 grades. Proportionally -- about 300 kids would attend the high school and about 175-200 would be in junior high...all grades being equal. And my proportions are close to right, because Madison High school has 279 kids! That's it.
This is hardly the influx or the invasion you all make it out to be.
Afterall, who are the newsmakers? The students and teachers at Madison? Or the ones at Granite City?
Again when we talk FACTS and not FEARS -- this would not be a big deal.
