There is believed be more than twice the amount of oil in the pocket they were wanting to drill, than has flowed thru the Alaskan pipeline to date. Cupple that with the fact that the pipeline is going to be shut down due to lack oil flowing through it, or its old age in not to distant future. The lack of new production efforts currently allowed in the gulf. The drying up of wells currently in procution. You get a very serious long term supply problem from American oil. The problem with oil prices TODAY might be speculation, and a week dollar. But The policys of the Obama administration are aimed to insure there is no American oil supply in 20 years. Making the problem of tomorrow, supply. Reducing American supply will never do anything to lower lower oil prices.
