The only difference is, politicians are under a republic rule. Perhaps some people have forgotten that in a demacracy, it is rule of the majority, which might be what the unions do. But in a republic, it's rule of law, i.e. the constitution, which protects the rights of the minority from majority rule. It's not taking away workers rights, it's infringing upon others rights. Just because the majority want something, doesn't mean they get to get it the minority be damned. The majority don't get to rule the minority, that would be elitist.
So what you"re saying is that you think you should tell people what to think and do. Why should he accept others saying what he should think and do?
If you don't like unions go somewhere Else to work. Why should he have to go somewhere else to work. There you go with the thinking you should be able to dictate what others should do.
