Opi, I do agree that voting for someone simply because of their age is not smart voting on our parts. Likewise, I, too, want to see what all of the candidates have to say about improvements and possible solutions to issues that our disrict faces. However, the only two websites (means by which candidates can express their views) that I have seen are the two young men. I've seen the article about Daily's appointment as well, but no means of campaigning from her or the incumbents. I think this shows the pitfall of having such an aged board. The technology that our students need isn't being used by the older folks, maybe because they don't think it's necessary or because they don't know how to do so. Either way, that is what is taking our district in the wrong direction. I would argue that we need people who know and promote these technological tactics because that alone shows a commitment and vision to come. Also, I respect anyone's opinions on here, even those that I don't agree with. I hope that before you assume that these two younger candidates aren't qualified, take a look at the websites and use the tools that they've provided to contact them and ask questions. It would be a huge mistake on everyone's part to pass up the resources that they've made available to the voting public. I don't believe that either one are running for personal gain. Likewise, I think that the incumbents and other candidates have something to offer, but don't make the mistake of discrediting anyone without finding out the facts they a few have provided.
