public education is a form of socialism No it is not at all... I will explain. Definition of SOCIALISM 1 : any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods 2 a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state 3 : a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done Or, try Wiki If your school was a SOCIALIST school, they would be advocating socialism. Just because a school may be using public or community funds, does not mean that they are socialist Private property laws have always been the norm since the white man moved here. (with only a few socialistic failures as exceptions) The colonies were not socialist just because they sent then there kids to a community school. Although some of the smaller colonies may have had some "Communistic" traits (no bureaucrats), With the exception of one failure, (i can think of) all of the original settlements still respected and individuals rights to his property. (I will note that many large families would share some similarity to communism) For public education to be socialistic, the community (know as a "government" in a true democracy) Would have to control, not only how many kids were born, before they entered the school, but the entirety of the knowledge they would learn. (as hard as they try, they can't) There would also be no ability to send you children to private school. (not only cause if you worked hard enough to earn the money for that privilege, they would take said money away, but that there would be no private option at all) know where i learned this?????? The University you think i did not attend. You didn't prove your case, If you did indeed go to school, I would go ask for my money back... When they ask why, show them your posts on this website, they will mostly likely gladly return your money, as it will be obvious to them they failed you as in institution of higher learning.
