I thought those pay raises were for those to protect and service Pontoon Beach, not to troll an interstate highway in search of what...another big drug bust?
If this is what PBPD is considering priority and have the man power to do it, maybe a staff reduction is in order to help with that enormous deficit our village is looking at.
270 is patrolled by the county, and I personally would prefer to see PB tax dollars used to protect the citizens of PB, not pulling over out of towners heading into Missouri.
If the dang village is on the verge of financial collapse, EVEN THE PD needs to cut back. And if they have the officers to sit day in and day out on 270 instead of in the busiest part of the village, I think that is some trimmable fat, right there.
Pay raises don't pay for trolling the interstate. The citizens didn't pay for, already told you.
Not a priority or too much manpower. A DETAIL. Officers stay in town like always to protect you. That is the priority.
Staff reduction really? Less officers.....more crime. I like to be safe in my home.
270 day in and day out? Occassionally, not paid for by you.
And 270 is a STATE highway, patrolled by State Police, County Deputies, and whatever local PD has jurisdiction.
