I usually always buckle up, however, I've been in two serious car accidents, and for certain reasons in both, I was not buckled up and it was a GOOD thing.

The first one, I was being stupid not wearing my seat belt while riding in a friend's car (I think it was a pain to put on or it choked you or something, don't remember) and we were going down 111, over the railroad tracks and his tire blew out. We went end over end and landed upside down in the middle of Horseshoe Lake. If I had been wearing my seat belt, I might have drowned.

The second, it was a VERY pea-soup foggy night, and I was having my first asthma attack without realizing what it was and took off my seat belt because I couldn't breathe. I was on the back roads of Collinsville and I blacked out and came to just in time to go around a curve, but I was thinking the wrong curve and turned into the hill. There was a 4 foot gully on the other side, and I swiped a telephone pole that caused my car to flip. If I had been wearing a seat belt, I would have been as crushed as the driver's side of the car was.

So, that being said, I understand that seat belts can save lives, but I also know that they can hinder a rescue as well. I think statistics would show that they save more than cause harm, but who's to say that that decision should be made for us?

On the other hand, you hear about these people who aren't wearing one and get thrown from the car. I have loved ones, who if it weren't for the law, wouldn't wear one, and sometimes I'm glad that they have to.

So, it's a toss up for me, half says yes, half says no. Although I guess that's about right for a Gemini LMFAO.
