By all rights Granite City schools should be one of the LAST to close..
They always were when I was in school and it was not too long ago.
Granite City roads are relatively straightforward, and there are rarely any points in the entire district that are more than six or seven miles apart.
There are no natural rises in elevation; we're on flat land and on a grid.
Why cancel school at the drop of a hat?
I am not unreasonable. I can see why there are good reasons to close Granite schools.
However, I believe that we should be one of the last districts needing to close school. Now that I am no longer that student..it's different isn't it. More time with the books, the merrier the student...in the long run. Books are good.
