+!00 Ginger... For those to whom this applies, it still does not mean this will be recognized outside of Illinois. Still it is a step in the right direction. No matter my personal beliefs, my Bible is not the Constitution, and I don't have the right to force on others what my personal morality is. If it does no harm and promotes the greater good, then it should be so. And if it is not something that I believe is right, I am FREE not to partake. Isn't FREEDOM wonderful? Anyone who is a fan of FREEDOM has no choice but to be in support of civil unions. What can be more IMPEDING than a government that does not allow people to be with those whom they want to be with. And yes, just as in male/female marriage..yes, age of consent laws do apply. No one under the age of consent in the eyes of the law is truly free to marry. So no folks, this IS NOT a slippery slope.
