Yes, but our houses aren't worth what they used to be, either. A little bit here--now Ameren is raising their rates, a little bit there, mandates need funding, a little more from there--it all adds up to more real expenses for us taxpayers, when some are barely hanging on, already. Where does it all end? There must be an immediate demand for all governmental entities to live within their means, like a business--and not the "best case scenario", wishful thinking, and real-world denial, that they have based their budgets on.
