If the other issues are the problem, then compromise and negotiate. Instead, Johnson sent the Republicans home for the week.

Each side will blame the other for the shutdown. Current polling shows people recognize the entire government is in the hands of Republicans and they also recognize how not extending these subsidies will dramatically effect premiums. People can't afford that... especially since Trump's promise of bringing down grocery prices on day one, never happened.
