You're certainly right this election Joe. With the transgender candidate and the realtor not following the rules, Parkinson is our continuing mayor.
The alderman in ward 2 now has no opponent via the same elimination process.
I think ward 1 has one opponent.
Ward 3 is unopposed as it has been the last several elections.
Ward 4 I think has the incumbent and one opponent.
Ward 5 has a challenger.
The clerk has no opposition.
The school board has no opposition.
The park board may have one outsider and the incumbents.
Not sure about the library although the lady who got booted from ward 2 was also booted from the library ballot. Have to read those rules people.
So, all in all, our next Granite City elections will probably have a very low turnout because unless you live in one of the challenged wards, there's not much there.
